Founded in 1995, the Lake Township Historical Society works to preserve the history of Lake Township. The purpose of this web site is to inform interested viewers of the history of Lake Township and provide a place to research ancestors and events of the several communities in the township. This is sometimes achieved through records found in our archives, sometimes through donations from private citizens. We also acquire information from oral and written histories accumulated through the Fireside Chat program and individual interviews with long time citizens of Lake Township.

The Society has restored and enhanced the Lake Center One Room Schoolhouse as a permanent site to experience a one room school house and to provide the Society with office space.   The Society also operates a museum in Greentown and a calendar of events can be found on the website.  The Lake Township Historical Society is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.
