Lakeside DixieFest

July 27th and 28th mark the 27th Anniversary of the Lakeside DixieFest.  For the past 26 years, during the last weekend in July, Dixieland jazz has invaded Clear Lake, Iowa. Visitors from surrounding states, across the nation, and from several international countries, have gathered to hear what has been termed “America’s only original art form”, traditional jazz music, performed by musicians from not only the Upper-Midwest, but as far away as Australia and France. The serene lakeside venue comes alive with sounds that were heard in the long-gone pavilions that lined the nearby lakeshore during the early years of the 20th century.

The Lakeside DixieFest continues to be one of the very few traditional jazz festivals in the country that is free-to-the-public, thanks to the generosity of several area businesses and organizations, and contributions from individual patrons including Clear Lake Bank & Trust, CLTel, Thrifty White Stores, Corporate Farmer, Kingland Systems, Dean Snyder Constr. Co., Bertha Stebens Foundation, Sukup Manufacturing, Yohn Companies, Rich Dean Memorial.
