Lawrenceville First Christian Church

3495 Sugarloaf Parkway
770-963-9922

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) was founded in the early 1800s in the United States. Seeking to move beyond denominational disagreements, the founders envisioned a united church of Jesus Christ modeled on the New Testament.
Today nearly 3,800 congregations still share these characteristics:

Each congregation is self-governing and calls its own pastor.

Worship services include laywomen and laymen in leadership.

Open discussion of issues is encouraged. Diversity of opinion is common.

Thanks be to God, we are growing in racial and ethnic diversity.

What's Special About Lawrenceville First?
Our congregational identity is "a place for everyone to grow, care, love and serve in faith." Here's what it means to us:

Place : God is everywhere, but God has graciously given us a space to gather as a family and welcome our neighbors. Come on in!

Everyone : Anyone can participate in the ministries of our church. We count on the Holy Spirit to give us the gifts we need. What gifts might you bring to this family?

Grow : We emphasize spiritual maturity through Bible study. Sunday school is for everybody, from babies to adults. Open your mind; soften your heart.

Care : We share our joys and concerns on Sundays and throughout the week, believing that God cares for us by giving us to each other.

Love : Our worship services inspire us to greater love for God and our neighbors, near and far.

Serve : We're always looking for ways to serve our community and our world. God calls us to look outside the walls of our church building to serve "the least of these" (Matthew 25).

In Faith : Everything we do, we do in humble trust that God is in charge.
