"Miss Leslie and the school system grew together, one enriched the other."

Leslie Fox Keyser Elementary opened its doors to learning in the fall of 1977. It was named in honor of a local historical figure, Leslie Fox Keyser. She is better known by those who knew her as, "Miss Leslie." Miss Leslie graduated from Eastern College and began her career in education in 1909. Her first teaching assignment was at Woodberry's one-room school house. She was a talented educator who sincerely cared for the well being of every student. The leadership qualities she possessed allowed her to take on many administrative positions throughout her career. Miss Leslie retired in 1958 after forty-eight years in the field. Her passion for education was a driving force that led the Warren County Public School system to where it is today.
