Liberty Elementary School

201 North Main Street
845-292-5400

Built in 1911, the original building was a kindergarten through 12th grade school and later became the elementary school when the high school was built in 1963. It now is the home to Liberty’s pre-kindergarten through fourth-grade. A diverse and rich curriculum is anchored firmly by a strong language arts curriculum. Students also learn character education (PBIS), where four core district-wide expectations (‘Be Respectful’, ‘Be Responsible’, ‘Be There, Be Ready’ and ‘Follow Directions’) are taught, practiced and modeled in all areas of school life. The building project at the elementary school, completed in 2012, includes the addition of eight classrooms on two floors, a new cafeteria, new media center, renovated bathrooms, new windows and roofing, new parking lots and an expanded playground.
