About Us

Lillian Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects approximately 6,500 people living in an area of 37 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. LVFD is a public department whose members are in a 100% volunteer status. We have an ISO rating of 4.

We are located in southeastern Alabama on U.S. Hwy 98, one mile from the Florida state line and about 15 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico. We have 4 engines, one 75' Snorkel, one rescue pumper, one brush truck, one chief's vehicle, a medical rehab vehicle, general use P/U truck, and one first-responder van. We run an average of 400+ calls per year, offering Basic Life Support service as well as fire protection. We have 2 AEDs (Automated External Defibrillator); this device can restart a person's heart during a sudden cardiac arrest.
