Loudoun Volunteer Fire Rescue

803 Sycolin Road

Pride, excitement, challenge. Volunteering for fire and rescue service offers committed individuals the opportunity to experience one of the most diverse and challenging professions today. The emergency services provided by the seventeen independent volunteer companies include providing prompt medical care and transport, fire suppression, vehicle extrication (“jaws of life”), water rescues and other types of specialty rescues, and responding to other 911 dispatched calls. It’s exciting, exhilarating and rewarding!

The personal rewards and satisfaction each of us receives from volunteer service are often beyond description. The sense of accomplishment after controlling a building fire, the joy and elation when a child is born, the compassion for accident victims, the fulfillment of teaching fire safety and prevention—the list goes on.

When volunteers aren’t running calls and providing emerg- ency services, they participate in:

Education: Volunteers educate the public on many issues, including fire prevention and safety, health education, injury prevention and CPR.

Community Events: Each company hosts one or more open house each year and participates in many public events throughout the community in an effort to reach out to citizens of Loudoun County. Volunteers organize and manage these events which are fun for all.
