The Marlette Middle School has an enrollment of approximately 520 fourth through eighth grade students.

Fourth, fifth and sixth grade students are assigned to one homeroom teacher, however, students do change teachers for various classes throughout the day. Fourth, fifth and sixth grade activity classes include art, music, band, physical education, and Math Pentathlon.

Seventh and eighth grade students have a six-hour day that consists of the four core academic classes (math, English, social studies, science) and two exploratory selections. In addition to the four core subjects, seventh grade students complete a human reproduction and AIDS unit and a unit in Economics. Eighth grade students complete a career education unit. Exploratory classes include tech prep, choir, band, art, physical education, computers, academic support.
