About

The Maumee Council for the Arts was formed in May of 2002 "to inspire, develop, coordinate and sustain Arts endeavors in the Maumee, Ohio area."

Since that time the council has brought together the talents of many artists to honor one of Maumee's greatest traditions: the annual walleye run. A total of 17 "Wacky Walleyes" were sponsored by various community groups and businesses. They are currently on display throughout the community. On May 8, 2004, 13 of them will be auctioned off to the public. Visit the "Wacky Walleyes" section of our site to learn more. Enjoy this hometown treasure, while you still can!

The Maumee Council for the Arts also sponsors an "Artist of the Month" display at the Maumee Library, and a Fall Festival at the Wolcott House each fall.

Currently, MCA is working on projects for the coming year. Many ideas have been proposed and others are in the works, including the development of a Community Theatre troupe. Click here to learn more about the theatre group.

If you would like add your ideas to ours, bring yourself and your creativity to one of our meetings. MCA meets monthly at the Maumee Library on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Hope to see you there!
