McLain Attendance Center was established in 1921 and currently is a PreK-8th grade school. The school is built on the location of the former Dantzler Plantation. The school has undergone several changes over the years. The last senior class to graduate from McLain was in 1987. The Greene County School District consolidated and high school students now attend a county-wide high school in Leakesville. McLain Attendance Center is part of the Greene County School District and currently has an enrollment of around 225 students. McLain is currently rated as a Level 4 school. Mr Kelcey Lee serves as principal.
