I was pleasantly surprised by the breadth and scope of the Michigan Historical Museum. From its earliest known inhabitants to the arrival of Europeans to the long road to development. It's a varied and colourful history with significant eras showcased in visually interesting ways. Some of the docents are extremely helpful and insightful. Definitely a good day out with the family, wrapped up with a nice walk and visit to the State Capital building.

You DEFINITELY need to see this place! One of the most wonderful museums you will ever visit. Was even part of an episode of the Mysteries at the Museum tv show. Low admission price and FREE on Sundays. Plan to spend at least 3 hours there or you won't do it justice. Come and take a wonderful trip through Michigan history! 🤗🤗

A deeply imaginative 3 story display of Michigan's rich history. Our favorite section was early man in Michigan, but truly every part was so full of photos, artifacts and interactive displays you could easily go every year and still find new things to discover about our great state!

Free on Sundays. Very interesting. Took me an hour to walk through and looking at everything. Will take longer if you read it all. Staff is knowledgeable.

Took my nephews and we had a great time exploring aspects of Michigan's history! The docents were all pleasant and well informed.
