The mission of the Mohawk Central School District is to provide quality resources, facilities, and opportunities that enable all students to reach their full potential intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically.

The Mohawk Central School District is located in the heart of the Mohawk Valley encompassing the Village of Mohawk and the surrounding rural area. It is located halfway between Albany and Syracuse along the New York State Thruway. The school district encompasses approximately 39 square miles and includes the Towns of German Flatts, Columbia, Little Falls and Litchfield. The average enrollment of the district is just over 1,000 students in grades K- 12 and the student population remains fairly consistent from year to year. The character of the district is primarily rural with the majority of homes being single-family dwellings. The present population of the district is estimated to be 5,541.
