Mission
Montclair has long been proud of its unique character as a vibrant arts community and a dynamic entertainment destination. The Montclair Arts Council was formed in 2005 to enhance that reputation by advancing the arts, advocating for and supporting artists and cultural organizations, and encouraging economic development through the arts. As a nonprofit organization, MAC has taken on the role of building links within the arts community, between the arts community and Montclair residents, and artists and Montclair’s business community.

The Montclair Arts Council’s goals:

- Advance the concepts of the 2001 Montclair Arts Plan.
- Advocate for and support individual artists and art organizations, acting as a catalyst for arts and cultural events and implementing a re-granting program for expanded programming.
- Enhance economic development through the arts, using alliances, public art and promotion of Montclair as a cultural tourist destination.
