Park Police provides protection and safety to the public utilizing Park Commission Facilities. The park system has many areas that can be reserved for your family or company picnic or outing. Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals and groups with a wide range of interests from horticulture to historic sites.

The Morris Trails Conservancy began in 1979 as The Friends of Patriots' Path, a non-profit educational organization, whose vision was to protect the Whippany River between Mendham and East Hanover, New Jersey. In 1998, the organization expanded its scope and changed its name to the Morris Trails Conservancy to reflect its broader interests in promoting trails throughout Morris County.

The Conservancy is comprised of a diverse range of trail users from casual walkers, hikers, joggers, bikers and horseback riders who advocate for the development, maintenance and intelligent use of trails for active and passive recreation. They realize that trails are a significant component in attaining a quality of life which assures personal well-being while helping to preserve and link natural, cultural and historical resources for this and future generations.

In addition to its advocacy role, the Conservancy offers a broad range of activities to introduce these trail systems to members and others.
