Mt. Carmel Regular Baptist Church was organized in Luray, Va. in 1812. It is now located two miles south of Luray on Rt. 340. Mt. Carmel has been at its present locality almost 27 years. The Lord has blessed the church with many fruitful ministries. After arriving at its present location, a Christian school was begun. Mt. Carmel Christian Academy has been fortunate to have a teaching staff that has done an outstanding job. The church has youth programs for every age group. Also, the seniors, "Third Agers," have an active program that has been a blessing. The women and men's prayer groups have been a blessing to the church, as well as the visitation programs that visit the shut-ins, hospitals, and nursing homes. Mt. Carmel continues to have three services a week, including: Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night programs for the youth and a Bible study for the adults. The bus ministry, with its dedicated workers, provides the transportation to attend the programs. Mt. Carmel has with God's leading, a good future. There are many things that we are praying about that will affect the ministry for God's glory. We believe that God has protected and provided for us through the years and we are thankful to Him for His faithfulness.
