The mission of Murray County Central schools is to develop informed, responisble, responsive and productive citizens for the twenty-first century.
West Elementary received the "5 Star School in Math" award. The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) tests are taken in grades 3, 5, 7, 10, and 11 and the average score in Reading was 90.97% (state average is 84.78%) and in Math the average score was 93.93% (state average is 84.71%). In 2006, the 10th grade class passed the writing test with 100% accuracy. The district has an attendance average of 95.87% and the state's average is 94.86%. Murray County Central's graduation rate is 97.10%; while the state's average is 88.96%.
