About Us

Business leaders founded our Chamber in 1919 and it has enjoyed a strong tradition of business and community activism for nearly a century. The Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce serves the needs of not just the city of Natchitoches (the parish seat), but all of Natchitoches Parish. Our mission is to make Natchitoches a better place to live and work. Involved heavily with education reform, community advancement and economic development, the Chamber also provides the needed resources and support that our many businesses, large and small, need to maintain a competitive edge in today's demanding economy.

In talking about what the Chamber is, it is important to note what the Chamber is NOT: it is not a government agency, a branch of City Hall, nor a State or Federal organization. A volunteer Board of Directors, each nominated by membership, leads the Chamber. The members are local businesses, individuals and service groups with a desire to improve their business, meet other progressive and active business and community leaders, and see improvements across all of Natchitoches that lends to the success of all businesses.
