Mission

The mission of the Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is to offer a quality education to a diverse community of Boston children through a neighborhood-based school that integrates education with social services and health care programs for the benefit of students and their families that otherwise have limited public educational opportunities.

"Succeed Anywhere" is the school's educational philosophy that every student at the school will have the necessary knowledge and skills to attend a high quality high school, whether that school be public or private, focused on college preparation, the technical trades, or the creative arts. To achieve this goal, NHCS offers individualized learning programs for each student including students where "special effort" is needed to overcome learning, physical, social, or emotional challenges. The school is committed to developing the interests and talents of all of its students.

In pursuing this mission, NHCS commits to developing and sharing with other public schools innovative practices that improve public education for all students.
