Newberg Norton Bible Church

The object of this church is to maintain the preaching and teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations, earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints and administrate the ordinances of the New Testament

We believe there is but one true and living God. He is eternal; of infinite power, wisdom and goodness; the creator of all things visible and invisible . In the unity of the Godhead are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

We believe Jesus Christ to be the eternal Son of God, co-equal with the Father being made flesh by conception of the Holy Spirit and being born of the virgin Mary. Being without sin, He chose to die for our sins upon the cross, was buried and arose again, ascended to Heaven and is alive today making intercession as High Priest and Advocate.

We believe the Holy Spirit to be co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is a person, come as the fulfillment of Christ's promise . He unites with the spirit of man after man's regeneration to renew man's spirit. The Holy Spirit indwells a "born again" believer and instructs, teaches , guides, intercedes, and sanctifies.

We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be the infallible, wholly inspired Word of God in the original writings. It is the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man: and the only authority for all Christian faith and living.

We believe salvation to be the gift of God's grace, and cannot be earned through any work of man, but is freely received by faith in and confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

We believe in the "blessed hope", the personal , pre-millennial and imminent return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust , in heaven as the eternal home of the redeemed, where we shall dwell in conscious, everlasting blessedness, and in hell as the place where the unsaved shall dwell in everlasting conscious torment.

We believe the true church is composed of persons who, through a saving faith in Jesus Christ, are born again and regardless of denomination, color or creed, are members of the church body with Jesus Christ being the head.

We believe the ordinances as taught by Jesus were given for the purpose of man's witnessing to the world of his salvation, and that no person is qualified to have part in either of these ordinances unless they are "born again". The two ordinances are "The Lord's Supper", and "Baptism". Neither are in any way means or requirements of salvation. The Lord's Supper is open to all "born again" believers regardless of color or creed. No one is to be denied the opportunity of partaking if he so desires. However, every person is urged to examine himself, for sickness and even death has come to those who eat and drink unworthily. This is a most solemn ordinance.. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward work of God's grace in the heart of man. No person is qualified to be baptized until he has given testimony to his salvation by grace through faith in Christ.
