About Us:

Newtown Congregational Church is a Christ-centered Protestant community that has served as a spiritual center for the Newtown, Connecticut area for 300 years. Originally housed in what is now known as The Meeting House, the church was established in 1714 as the first church in the town. In 1988, due to increased membership, the church moved to the present location on the hill behind the Meeting House.

Today, our membership continues to increase as we "welcome all" into the membership. The congregation of Newtown Congregational Church whole-heartedly commits to giving each and every individual who enters the doors of this house of God an Extravagant Welcome. We understand that as part of our faith Christ expects us to "love our neighbor". We realize and embrace "our neighbor" as anyone we have the opportunity to come in contact with or can affect the life of.
