The mission of the Nixa R-II School District, recognized for excellence and innovation in a rapidly growing community, is to ensure that all students graduate with academic and life skills necessary to become life-long learners who are productive, informed and involved citizens in a diverse society. This will be accomplished by providing a quality, comprehensive education in a safe and secure environment.

Basic needs must be met to maximize learning.

Individuals have the right to develop creativity.

The educational process must be receptive to change.

All children are entitled to a quality public education.

The cost of educational excellence is worth the investment.

Objectives :

Each student will meet the academic performance standards on district, state, and national tests.

The percentage of students exceeding academic performance standards on district, state, and national tests will increase annually.

Each student will demonstrate an increase in his/her achievement levels throughout the educational program.

Each student will demonstrate the life skills necessary to become a productive, informed, and involved citizen.

Proposed as the established guidelines within which the district will accomplish its mission:

The educational needs of our students are our top priority.

We will always operate safe, caring environments to ensure student learning.

We will not tolerate any behavior that diminishes the self-worth of any student, staff member, or community member.

No new program, course, and/or service will be added unless:

it meets a clearly demonstrated, mission-related need;

it survives a cost benefit analysis;

its impact on other programs/courses/services is addressed;

adequate staffing, staff development, funding, and facilities are provided;

it contains an evaluation procedure.

We will practice participative management at all levels of the organization.

We will use the strategic planning process to develop, review, revise, and implement the comprehensive school improvement plan.

We will not tolerate ineffective employees.
