Nolanville 1st United Methodist Church

The Nolanville Methodist Church was organized sometime before 1870. Peg Leg Harris was one of the first circuit-rider preachers.

Services were held under brush arbors and in schoolhouses, until 1884 when the Baptist church was built. The Methodists worshiped here until the present church was built in 1886.

Summer revivals were held on upper Nolan Creek Campground until 1921 when the Tabernacle was moved to the Nolanville Methodist Church grounds. Records show six boys answered the call to the ministry from this church.

Georgetown District gave the Jonah Methodist Church to be used for an Educational Building, in 1960, when Reverend Guy Wilson was pastor.
