North Central District of Civitan International

Civitans are everyday citizens who come together in communities around the world to socialize, learn and serve their neighbors through community service projects. Civitan has grown to over 40,000 members in 24 countries on 4 continents, including youth and college programs. Civitan clubs perform a variety of service projects that address the unique needs of their communities.

On the international level, Civitan is devoted to improving the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities. Civitan's flagship program is the UABCivitanInternationalResearchCenter, the first institution of its kind in the United States to be solely dedicated to research of developmental disabilities.  For more information, visit the Civitan International website at http://www.civitan.org/
