The North Stonington Education Foundation (NSEF) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support and enhance public education.  The purpose of raising funds is for educational programs, events and opportunities that would otherwise "never see the light of day" from traditional educational funding sources. 

 

 

During the relatively short period of time NSEF has been in existence, grants in the order of $70,000 have been given to in support of various projects that benefit the students of North Stonington schools.  As Margaret Meade said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world.  Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

The Foundation is governed by an all-volunteer board of directors comprised of community members.  It is independent of the N.S. Public Schools, the Board of Education and is nonpolitical. 

Annual fund raising events include a Toast To Spring, Runners in Support of Education Road Race, Trivia Night and NSEF Dinner & Dance Gala.
