The North Wilkesboro Fire Department was established in 1910 and we will be celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2010.

North Wilkesboro Fire Department proudly protects 4100 people living in an area of 5.5 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status.

The department is a combination fire department. We consist of 27 firemen and 3 paid engineers on duty. Engineers work 24 on and 48 off. Our mission is to provide fire suppression, fire prevention, and fire inspections to the town's residents and businesses.
