The NCS Learning Center will provide services to students at risk of truancy, academic failure, behavior problems and dropping out of school. Using basic instructional methodologies, the staff will work collaboratively to integrate hands-on activities, some technology and other teaching strategies designed to cater to the learning needs of students. Northampton County School curriculum personnel, guidance counselors, and administrators will design and implement programs to accelerate skill development for students who may have gaps in skills and knowledge needed to be successful on the new SAT in college.

Northampton County Schools curriculum department will determine the staff development needs for the instructional personnel and design a professional learning program that will increase the teachers' ability to teach the skills and knowledge necessary for students to do well on the new SAT.

Northampton County Schools personnel will show students the skills needed for success on the new SAT correlate with those required by the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, NC End-of-Course, and success in life skills applications.
