OUR HISTORY

Northway Baptist Church began as a mission sponsored by the Sheldon Road Baptist Church in Channelview, Texas on January 8, 1969. The mission held its first services in a civic center just off Mt. Houston Road and later moved to a frame building on the Eastex Freeway.

The mission was organized into a church at Sheldon Road Baptist Church on Friday evening, October 10, 1969 with 36 members. That same evening Bro. Ron Lee was called to be the first Pastor.

In February, 1972, Northway Baptist Church assumed the indebtedness and merged with Greenlee Baptist Church, relocating to its present address at 5939 Bender Road
