Norwalk Historical Society Museum- 141 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT  - Entry only from Norwalk City Hall parking lot area at 125 East Avenue.  The Museum is in the red brick house with double blue front doors, next to the Norwalk Health Department. Operated by the Norwalk Historical Society. The museum features rotating exhibits on the history and culture of Norwalk, Connecticut as well as a gift shop showcasing the work of over 15 local artists and artisans. Norwalk Historical Society

The Norwalk Historical Society was incorporated in 1899 with the purpose of promoting and encouraging historical research in Norwalk. That vision is kept alive today with the re-establishment of the NHS in 1949 and the continued focus on "the research, preservation, and promotion of interest in the history of Norwalk." Members of the Society bring Norwalk's history to the public eye through contributions, donations, and volunteer time in a variety of the Society's activities including:

Award-winning exhibits: The Firelands: Retribution for the Burning of Norwalk  and Angry Waters: The Norwalk Flood of 1955.

Building Plaque Program - Provides recognition and insight into architectural treasures that stand in our community.

The Little Red Schoolhouse Program - Brings Norwalk's 3rd graders the opportunity to learn about life in early Norwalk.
