It is usually busy, and if you get there late morning all the good spots are taken. During peak times the pond is virtually empty of fish. It is however very clean and well maintained. The park rangers are engaged and friendly. It's better for a short camping trip than anywhere else locally.

Nice place on the plains. Good bird watching and watched the moon rise in the east. Water has nitrates and dump station out of service for over a year so plan accordingly.

Cool place for safe desert camping but too dry for me. It was so cool hearing and seeing the wildlife.

It was very clean, easily accessible and everything you'll need is there. A bonus, the closest store is only 5 miles away!

I usually love this place because of the quietness. Lately it has been very crowded and loud. People with music blaring and having a BBQ at the pond area, instead of at the picnic areas. The front bathrooms had been closed for over a year, so when we needed to go the bathroom, we had to get in our car to drive to the back bathrooms (we are night fishers)
