Old St. Patrick’s mission is to serve the life and work of the laity in the world.

At the crossroads of an historic past and a promising future, engaged in a challenging present and in the midst of the rich diversity of Chicago, we are convinced that the mystery of Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection unfolds within human life.

We resolve to probe the meaning of our adult experience of self, work, relationships, and family, that guided by the Holy Spirit, we might express our faith in our life activities and responsibilities.
We choose to celebrate the goodness of life by continually creating an experience of hospitality, friendship, prayer and service that responds to human needs.
We commit ourselves to embody and advocate the values and actions that arise from our shared reflection. We hope to influence our society in positive ways.
Together, we embrace the mission of Jesus Christ, so that others may experience the rich promise of God’s love for our world.
