About Us:

The Orting Food Bank was started in 2007 by a handful of volunteers to meet the growing needs of the hungry in Orting!   The Orting Food Bank is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization and has been committed to collecting food and other household items and distributing them to those in need.

In 2007, we distributed over 47,000 pounds of food; in 2010 – 112,717 pounds of food; and the end of 2011 we had distributed over 230,000 pounds to those in need in the 98360 zip code!

January 2, 2012 found us in our NEW DIGS! We are thrilled to have received a Grant from Pierce County that enabled us to purchase and renovate our new home!   In the 7 months of being in our new location, we have DOUBLED the number of clients we distribute to last year! It is very obvious that times are tough and the needsare huge in our small town!

We are open for distribution of food on:

Monday 3:00pm – 6:00pm
Wednesday 12:00 noon – 3:00pm
Friday 9:00am – 12:00 noon

No appointment required

We are primarily operated by Volunteers, so our “work” hours vary. We have workers onsite 6 days a week (closed on Sundays) stocking shelves, receiving donations, cleaning, and getting ready for distribution days.
