District Mission Statement

Quality Education For All .

Technology Plan Vision

The Otsego Public School community believes that technology is a valuable educational tool that can enhance student learning at all levels and expand the scope of the curriculum in all content areas. We further believe that the understaning of and access to technology is vital in the educational plan for all students. Students must be given the opportunity to learn competencies in using technology as a tool to enhance learning of content specific curriculum, for gathering, using, evaluating, and manipulating information as well as for communication and creative expression. In addition, students must understand the impact of technological advancements on society and accept the responsibilities associated with appropriate use of technology.

In our vision for the future, our students will continue to have:

Daily access to technology-rich learning environments (multimedia projectors, document cameras, video streaming capabilities) within their classrooms, in the school library media center, from home when needed, and in learning labs for all content areas. All classrooms in the district can access all library and multi-media resources, including videoconferencing.

Daily access to computer-based software through lessons that integrate the computer into the instructional program.

Use of multi-media learning environments located in the classroom, and library media centers. These applications would be integrated within and across all curriculum areas.

Access, when needed, to networked systems extending from the classroom to the building, the district, and to the outside world.

Access to virtual and online learning for remediation as well as accelerated and advanced opportunities. In our vision for the future, our instructional and support staff will continue to have:

Access to the emerging and existing technological hardware, software and training necessary to develop and present an instructional program that integrates technology, as appropriate, throughout the curriculum.

Access to resources outside the district that will support the instructional program.

Access to communication systems that will allow them to communicate with colleagues throughout the district. In our vision for the future, parents and community members will have:

Access to the technology facilities and equipment during the evening hours.
