Mission Statement: Our Daily Bread provides nutritious meals and facilitates referrals for other services to those in need.

Our Daily Bread is a community soup kitchen that serves a free, nutritious lunch meal Monday through Friday to the hungry and homeless in Denton County and surrounding areas. Our Daily Bread operates under the auspices and 501(c)3 status of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.  We are currently serving an average of 200 meals per day. Since we opened in June 2000, we have served over 500,000 meals to those in need. We also provide a continental breakfast when we open our doors at 10:00am.

With only one full time paid staff person (the Executive Director) and three part time staff, the contribution by volunteers is critical as they provide more than 25,000 hours of service per year. They assist with all phases of the operation:  food preparation, delivery, and clean-up;  pick-up of donated food, health services by a physician and registered nurses, assistance with fund-raising and grant writing, social services referral programs, and many other activities.
