Oxford Elementary School

939 Quilliams Road
216-371-6525

Oxford School is housed in a beautiful brick Tudor-style building. The interior, which was renovated during the summer of 2000, features two historic Works Progress Administration murals. The school has a magnificently landscaped courtyard that can be viewed from the kindergarten wing. It provides a quiet space for classrooms to visit and makes a lovely home for butterflies released by the kindergarten classes in the spring. The school mascot is the Oxford Owl, which symbolizes the wise choices students are encouraged to make in all areas.
Student achievement is the number one goal at Oxford. The Oxford staff is committed to working with one another, parents and students to form powerful partnerships that raise student achievement. The teaching staff regularly participates in professional development activities that enhance regular classroom instruction. Teachers recognize the importance of using classroom data to guide and differentiate student instruction. The Oxford staff loves their students and that feeling is obvious the minute you walk through our front door!
Regular recognition is given to students who have been peaceful, responsible and behave like role models. We want all students to grow up to become productive citizens who are able to contribute to our community. This type of role model behavior is reinforced through our school wide ticket plan. Our school wide ticket plan enables each classroom in the school to earn tickets when they are caught exhibiting role model behavior by the principal. Each class saves their tickets and may cash them in for special activities and rewards. One of the activities includes having the principal come and read to the class. Oxford students are role models!
