Our Mission Statement

Why We Exist

Whatever, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Our purpose as a local church is:

To GLORIFY GOD by:

Exalting the Lord with the Entirety of our Lives Through God-centered not man-centered Worship

Equipping the Saints for Faithful Ministry Through accurate Preaching and Training in God's Word

Edifying the Fellowship for our Vital Unity Through Exhortation and Encouragement in Service to One Another

Evangelizing the World as our Great Commission Through Bold Proclamation and Loving Practice to All People

Vision Statement

Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, but happy is he who keeps the law."

The passionate aim of PBC in all that we endeavor is to please God by desiring Him above all. In the relentless pursuit of obedience to Biblical Truth, we seek that every moment of our lives will honor the excellencies of God and proclaim the great name of our Savior and King.

But delight in God and obedience to His Word does not always translate into worldly barometers of success: bodies, bucks, and buildings. Instead, faithfulness and serving the eternal interests of the Kingdom should be the heart treasure of the redeemed.

Our History

How We Began

Pillar Bible Church was established and incorporated on November 4, 2003, when a group of like-minded men and women, committed to Biblical ministry, prayerfully gathered as a new local congregation. The church called James H. Lee as its first Pastor-Teacher. The founding church board consisted of 6 men as its officers. PBC had its first official service on Sunday, November 16, 2003, gathering for worship in the living room of one of its member's homes. The church celebrated its first Thanksgiving and Communion service the following week. The church continued to meet in homes with an initial gathering of about 34 people.

PBC moved into its first regular Sunday Worship facility at Hermosa Drive Elementary School in Fullerton, CA on Sunday, December 14, 2003.

The church celebrated on Sunday, April 25, 2004, with an Inauguration Service, with several local Bible-teaching churches, family, and friends in attendance. Rev. Alex Montoya, pastor at First Fundamental Bible Church in Monterey Park and a professor at the Master's Seminary, preached the inaugural address, "Rewards for Serving Christ."

PBC moved into the its second regular Sunday Worship facility at Rolling Hills Elementary School in Fullerton on Sunday, June 13, 2004, due to construction at Hermosa Drive. Not long after, PBC was formally accepted into the Southern Baptist Convention by the recommendation of the OCSBA Advisory Board on Thursday, July 15, 2004.

On Resurrection Sunday, March 25, 2005, PBC celebrated its first Baptism service as 3 of our members who recently came to Christ made public profession of their new life in Christ.

On Sunday, May 5, 2005, PBC moved into its current longterm facility at the Heritage Inn Hotel in Fullerton, CA. The first official membership class of 21 brethren made a public covenant to our local congregation on Sunday, June 12, 2005.
