We call this our Egg because of its shape. It is a statement of Presbyterian's sense of mission and serves as a guide for all employees, clearly identifying our purpose, vision, values, and strategies. Each Presbyterian employee is asked to complete an Individual Job Egg to help them better understand how their individual contributions link to Presbyterian's success.

As a not-for-profit organization, Presbyterian's purpose is to improve the health of individuals, families, and communities. Our vision is to earn a letter from the communities we serve demonstrating that the community's expectations and requirements have been met or exceeded. Our values exemplify our beliefs and standards of clinical and service excellence through people helping people, stewardship, integrity, honesty, caring relationships, and the totality of health: body, mind, and spirit.

Our strategies reflect our pursuit of national excellence to benefit patients and members by achieving the Three Things: Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award, top 10% in patient safety, and "AA" rating. Our ability to accomplish clinical and service excellence is based primarily on the people we hire AND Presbyterian is committed to reinvesting in our organization through state-of-the-art equipment and facilities that benefits our patients and members. We were one of the first in the country to install "Rosie The Robot" to more accurately dispense medication and to use AccuScan to ensure patient safety.

In 2008, Presbyterian will celebrate its 100th birthday. It has been a rewarding journey from the early days as a tuberculosis sanatorium. In all that time, we have had only seven CEOs who have provided consistent leadership that continues to prepare us for achieving excellence in healthcare for the next 100 years. Proud of our past, we are meeting the present challenges and building for the future.
