Ramona Mainstage

626 Main Street
760-789-7008

About Us:

The Ramona Theatre was comparable to any of the Art Deco cinematic palaces then operating in San Diego County, and it was certainly one of the most impressive sights ever unveiled in the then small community of Ramona. This is back in the era when going to the movies was supposed to be an opulent experience, something special. Since then, literally thousands of America’s “Grand Old Movie Palaces” have vanished.

Fast forward to the year 2002. The Ramona Theatre has survived, but is in need of major repairs. The theatre had been for sale for two years when it was purchased by Orrin and Cheryl Day. By 2003, an extensive restoration was complete, bringing her back to her original glory, and beyond.

Theatre restoration is a process of romance and reality. Few projects create such widespread excitement, but it’s only through creative programming and community support that these historic theatres across America will thrive after their rebirth.

“We are extremely fortunate to have overwhelming support from the residents of Ramona, who are as excited as we are that the Ramona Mainstage has reclaimed her place on Main Street as the “Jewel of Ramona,” say Orrin and Cheryl Day.

Ramona Mainstage now operates as a performing arts facility, presenting a diverse range of live entertainment centering on theatrical performance, music, dance, comedy and celebrity appearances. The venue is also available for lectures, educational events, business gatherings, religious services, community events and other special events.
