About Us:

In the heart of historic Alexandria's Old Town, the Ramsay House is named for one of Alexandria's most distinguished founders, William Ramsay, a Scottish merchant and esteemed friend of George Washington.

Named for Scottish merchant and city founder William Ramsay, the Alexandria Visitor Center is the go-to place for sightseeing brochures, attraction tickets and maps. Alexandria souvenirs are available in our gift shop, including t-shirts, caps, books, postcards and more.

The Visitor Center is open daily 10 a.m.-5 p.m., with extended spring and summer hours.
