Ratcliff First Baptist Church

21 Church Street

History:

The first organized worship services of those Ratcliff and area residents of the Baptist faith were reported in 1905. By late 1908 or early 1909, a one-room, white building with a pot-bellied stove in the center was constructed near the railroad station. 1958 saw the church addition of the east wing and in 1972 the west side rooms were added. By 1983 church attendance had grown and with a yearly average of 102, the members began plans for a new sanctuary. This was completely paid for within five years.
