Resurrection Lutheran Church

1250 Lora Smith Road

About Us:

"In the left window, the baptismal window, is a red dove symbolizing the baptism of the spirit. The dove is surrounded by the flames of Pentecost. Below the dove is a shell with the waters of baptism flowing from it, feeding the seed at the bottom of the window which grows and is both Christ and the potential for new life that can be called forth with baptism. The vine which springs from the seed is ivy, the symbol of eternal life through faith and belief.

The center window, the Word made flesh, has the dove descending from the top, symbolizing the Holy Spirit which descended at the baptism of Christ. Radiating from the dove are the flames of Pentecost. The lamb on the cross is the representation of Christ and his sacrifice for man. The Bible represents the Word of God, Jesus is that Word made flesh. The lamp at the bottom is there to remind us that Christ is called the light of the world. The flowering vines that grow up the sides are suggestive of the hope that man, when he abides in Christ, bears plentiful fruit.

The right window, the communion window, has the red dove representing the baptism of spirit surrounded by the flames of Pentecost. The goblet symbolizes the blood of Christ, and the bread, the body of Christ taken at communion. The borders, grapevine and sheaths of wheat, are the components of the bread and wine.

The flames of Pentecost emanating from the center window into the side windows, and the blue background of all the windows, work together to create a feeling of unity. All the windows stand alone, yet flow into each other."

Our Vision:

The vision of Resurrection Lutheran Church is to be a gathered community to worship God by proclaiming the Word of Jesus Christ to all people. We will reach out in God's love to meet human needs, grow in faith and expand our church to live together in the love of Christ.
