Ridgefield Operation For Animal Rescue

45 South Street
203-438-0158

Mission:

Our mission is twofold: to promote the rescue, compassionate treatment and adoption of abandoned and surrendered dogs and cats; and to enhance the remarkable bond between people and pets through our programs and projects.

About Us:

The Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue - ROAR is a private 501c3 animal rescue organization in Ridgefield, CT. We specialize in the compassionate treatment and adoption of homeless pets. The ROAR Donofrio Family Animal Shelter is located at 45 South Street in Ridgefield, CT and offer both dogs and cats for adoption.

ROAR was founded on the simple principle that we would provide animals in need with the same love, care and compassion we show our own family pets.  Since we opened our doors in 2005, we have placed almost 4,500 neglected and unwanted cats and dogs in caring homes throughout Ridgefield and our surrounding towns.

But our mission does not end at our shelter’s door.   ROAR’s staff and volunteers are also committed to enhancing the remarkable bond between people and pets through our education and outreach programs, enriching the quality of lives throughout our community.   For example, ROAR is a presence in schools at all levels, sharing information about the rewards and responsibilities of pet ownership, and working with student groups in developing ways to “give back” to animals in need.
