To educate all students fo a diverse community to become responsible, thinking, creative, literate citizens who strive for personal excellence, function successfully, and enrich society.

Roosevelt School, which is a historical landmark, was built in 1914. Located in the Borough of Norristown, Roosevelt School became an Alternative School in 1980. Twenty-one years later, Roosevelt School takes great pride in providing 4 different programs for approximately 200 students. Choices available to students from within the district and outside NASD boundaries are the Roosevelt Secondary Program, the Expectant and Teen Parent Program with an onsite daycare, the CARE Program, and the TR Extended Day Program. All programs are tailored to address the academic and social-adaptive needs of the student population.

The goal of Roosevelt Alternative School is to provide students with the necessary information, knowledge, materials, skills, and support to increase their academic performance and assist them in becoming responsible and productive citizens. With a professional staff who brings years of experience and expertise working with diverse and at-risk student populations, Roosevelt School, a Step in the Right Direction, operates from the premise that when given the opportunity all students can learn and succeed. Our philosophy is that students are a success story in the making, with the faculty and staff operating as agents of hope.

Upon graduation, all students will have been provided with the required resources to either attend an institution of higher learning or become employed in their area of interest. Educational programs have been pursued at Montgomery County Community College, Johnson & Wales University and several technical institutes, as well as the military
