Elementary underwent another modest remodeling. New blue carpeting and white tile floors were laid in the classrooms and hallways, replacing the old brown and orange carpeting, and the walls were trimmed in the more subdued hues of blue, teal, plum, and apricot. Technology came to Roxboro in a big way during the 2000-2001 school year as all classrooms received six computers, a huge computer monitor (which also doubles as a monitor for educational videos), a notebook computer, a digital camera, a scanner, and a printer. Roxboro is ready for the New Millennium! It's a group of trained volunteers willing to come into a designated classroom each week at a specific time all year long to work with individual students and/or small groups of students on a variety of skills determined by the classroom teachers. Some volunteers of The Village eat lunch with the children in the lunchroom and help on the playground during recess too. The Village is a very popular and successful program atRoxboro!
