Our Mission

The mission of St. Stephen Lutheran Church is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that is both true to the nature of the triune God and relevant to the world in which we find ourselves.

We accomplish this mission by inviting our neighbor into a life of faith in the ways that God has revealed it to us:

• We gather together to receive God's promises in the form of Word and Sacrament.
• We are strengthened, emboldened, and freed by these means of grace to go out and serve our neighbor, joyfully sharing the gifts we have received from God.
• We are specifically called to be faithful stewards of these gifts in Arbutus and the surrounding communities, even as we are mindful of and give generously to the needs of our neighbors of every kind throughout God's wondrously diverse creation.

• The image reminds us of Matthew 28:19 - "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"
