It is the mission of Sanders Elementary to nurture and develop the inquiring mind according to each student's capacity within a safe, healthy environment.

School Beliefs

Each student has the right to learn and each teacher has the right to teach.

Everyone has the right to learn and function in a safe and appropriate environment.

Everyone is entitled to be treated with dignity and respect in order to enhance the evolvement of self-esteem and self-reliance.

Philosophy

While the acquisition and application of knowledge are important, we recognize that knowledge is ever changing in content and increasing at such a rate that no one can master it all. Therefore, it is our objectives, using a holistic approach, to provide a foundation in life-long learning through inquiry and problem-solving experiences.

As a staff, we are committed to showing respect for the student's culture and values in the way we teach in order to preserve their identity and enhance their self-respect regardless of ethnic heritage, religion, sex or economic status.

We affirm our responsibility to do everything within our power that will substantially aid in the optimum development of each student so that they will be able to participate successfully and contribute effectively in both the Native American and larger global society. This includes recognition of the special needs learner.

Sander Elementary School recognizes it connection with the community at large regarding the continual educational needs of parents who provide the motivation and necessary home support for their children's present and future success.
