Saxton's United Methodist Church

3241 Main Street
302-572-9000

History

In January, 1879, the building of a church was first introduced by John Saxton.  The church was built in Saxton Grove just outside of town.  The church was dedicated in December of that same year.  In August of 1885, it was decided that the church be moved into the Town of Bowers to its present location.  Historic restoration has kept the church almost the same as it was one hundred and twenty-five years ago and the church is now on the Federal Register of Historical Buildings.
