It is the mission of the Sea Girt Police Department to maintain peace and order through the provision of police services that are of the highest quality and responsive to the needs of the community. We will contribute to the safety and security of the community by apprehending those who commit criminal acts, by developing partnerships to prevent, reduce, or eliminate neighborhood problems, and by providing police services that are fair, unbiased, judicious, and respectful of the dignity of all individuals.

The Borough of Sea Girt is a small shore community located in Monmouth County, NJ. The Sea Girt Police Department protects a 1.05 square mile area which is home to 2,179 residents. Sea Girt is mostly a residential community with a small business district and no industry.
The Sea Girt Police Department is dedicated to preserving the well being of our residents and visitors through prevention of crime and maintaining law and order. The crime prevention and community policing efforts put forth by our department has made Sea Girt one of the safest communities in Monmouth County. In 2004 the crime rate was 8.2 crimes per thousand people which places Sea Girt well below the crime rate in Monmouth County which is 22.2 crimes per thousand people.
The Sea Girt Police Department is a small police department. Employed by the Borough are 11 full time sworn police officers, 11 Class II Special Officers, 4 Class I Special Officers, 4 full time civilian dispatchers, and 5 school crossing guards.
