The mission of Second United Methodist Church is to preach the Good News of Jesus, to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and to nurture the disciples through the teaching and exhortation of God's Word.

For more than 150 years, Second UMC has witnessed for Jesus Christ and ministered to the changing needs of our community and the wider world. Today, we seek to accomplish this by reaching those still “outside” the church, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, and equipping Christian believers to live meaningful, successful lives and serve others.
