We Believe

About the Holy Trinity

We believe in the one living and true God, the Creator and Preserver of all things who is within himself three persons of one essential nature, power and eternity-the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

About the Father

We believe the Father is the Source of all that exists, whether of matter or spirit. With the Son and the Holy Spirit, He made man in His image.

About the Son of God

We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. That he was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. That he died on the cross and was buried, to be a sacrifice for sin and to reconcile us to God. We believe that Christ rose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven, and there intercedes for us at the Father's right hand until He returns to judge all humanity at the last day.

About the Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who is of the same essential nature as the Father and the Son, truly and eternally God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with spiritual gifts, power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.

About the Holy Scriptures

We believe that the books of the Old and New Testaments constitute the Holy Scriptures. That they are the inspired Word of God and infallible, fully inerrant in their original manuscripts and superior to all human authority, and have been transmitted to the present without corruption of any essential doctrine.

About Human Beings

We believe that humanity's creation in the image of God included ability to choose between right and wrong. That being made in His image and complete in moral knowledge, they rejected that knowledge in favor of another. This search for life and meaning outside of the knowledge of God was the cause of separation between God and humanity and that we are now, by reason of the separation, spiritually depraved, alienated from our Creator and in a condition of spiritual death.

About Salvation

- The Atonement

We believe that the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ makes possible the removal of the separation between God and us. That it is sufficient for every human and is the only grounds for salvation.

- Repentance

We believe that the state of every person is one of separation from God and that God wants to restore us to himself. We encounter his love throughout our life and in so doing are summoned to acknowledge our separation, that is our sinfulness, and repent.

We understand repentance to be primary in restoring communion with God and is the willful act of a person to admit their sinfulness in the belief that God will, on the basis of Christ's work, forgive them and remove the separation between He and them. Further, we understand that in the act of repentance occurs the work of Gods grace in justification and sanctification resulting in the New Birth.

- The Holy Spirit in the New Birth

We believe the Holy Spirit is necessary for the new birth and is that which restores spiritual life to us. We hold that the baptism of the Spirit occurs during repentance and is that which makes us a new creature in Christ and the believer receptive of an empowering dimension of life in the Spirit which is manifested visibly in openness to the charisms of the Spirit, the miraculous and in a marked obedience to mission.

About Eternity

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
