Sherwood Regional Library

2501 Sherwood Hall Lane

The Sherwood Regional Library has been serving residents of the historic Mount Vernon District since 1971. The Library's collections and services reflect the diverse population in the branch's service area. A computer lab and a varied program of free, hands-on technology courses helps community members across the digital divide. An active Friends of the Library group provides programming for all ages, including literature programs for adults and professional performers for children. An extensive volunteer program offers a wide selection of choices for citizens wishing to share their talents with the community.

Great selection of books, computers on first and second level, rooms for single and group study, and three meeting rooms. Fantastic friendly staff. Stays a little on the chilly side.

This is a great local library. It has ample parking, it is centrally located in a very populated area, and the children's reading room is fantastic. It is an enclosed space separated from the library by a fairly soundproof door, and it has its own bathroom with diaper changing area! This alone in my book is worth its weight in gold for parents of small children who want to get out of the house but don't want to bother the patrons of libraries who just go for some peace and quiet :-) The children's section contains many board books and several well-loved puzzles, plus two comfy couches. Also, starting every May and continuing through the fall, there is a fabulous farmer's market in the parking lot of this library on Wednesday mornings.

Great, quiet environment to study, work, or just enjoy a good book.
